Description
Experience Level: Expert
Brief:
To design a simple installer program for our range of IP network cameras - for use with Windows and Mac. We are therefore seeking to work with application developers that could produce for both platforms or those that work specifically with either.
The following illustrates what is required in terms of functionality which will then enable you to, hopefully, establish how you may look to execute in design/programming terms.
1) User loads install CD into computer
2) Installer program auto starts
3) User presses 'find camera' button which then finds the camera(s) on the local network and returns with ip addresses for all devices found
4) User clicks on ip address (e.g. 192.168.1.65) for a discovered/displayed camera which automatically takes user to the camera's web interface (i.e. http://192.168.1.65) in their web browser
As you will glean from the above outline the main programming element is the 'network device finder' - this should ideally limit devices found specifically to our cameras and not all network devices and hence we are happy to furnish you with one of our cameras to enable you to fine tune it for this purpose as well as any other information required to do this.
Aside from effecting the above the installer will be designed to incorporate our logo and some generic buttons which link to help files and video tutorials also on the CD.
NB: We have an install CD currently which you will be able to use as reference but we are looking to simplify functionality from its present state to that as described above.
Please get in touch if you feel you can develop the above and/or require further information for further consideration etc.
Thanks
Paresh
