Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
The project is a training tool which allows surgeons to perform simulated operations on virtual patients using a specific medical device (already in-use on real patients around the world). The tool is a desktop Windows application which models the medical device and the patient, and provides several real-time 3D views which simulate the medical imaging tools available in real life.
Version 1.0 of this software is already released with the core rendering functionality, this next phase focuses predominantly on significantly enhancing the application's ability to teach the user, and on providing tools to allow the customer to configure the software based on expert medical experience.
The technologies involved include:
- Ogre 3D Rendering engine
- HLSL & GLSL shader programming (SM 3 currently)
- wxWidgets
- myGUI
- tinyXML
- a proprietary soft-body physical modelling package
- a proprietary rules engine
We are looking for up to 3 experienced developers to join us on this next phase of development, initially for a period of around 3 months.
All applicants MUST HAVE:
- Very strong C++ knowledge (including standard libraries) - we're talking several years' use
- Commercial C++ experience in a traditional job working in a development team
- Software engineering background - OOP, patterns, etc.
- Ability to quickly gain familiarity with new technologies, libraries and code-bases
- Experience with Ogre3D or wxWidgets
- At least some hands-on experience with real-time 3D rendering and Windows desktop programming
- General "smart & gets things done" skills
- Experience using bug-trackers and source-control software (we use SVN)
- Good communication skills and English language, both verbal and by IM/email
- Ability to work independently and efficiently to a spec/task
If you don't meet ALL these requirements, please DO NOT apply.
Please note: NO DEVELOPMENT COMPANIES. Any contact not from individual developers will be deleted.
If you don't answer the points asked in the advert you will also be ignored, I am looking for professional experts not people applying for every development job.
Thanks.
