Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I'd like to increase our turnover, whilst retaining sensible profit margins, by implementing an online presence through the use of social media.
I'm not sure whether this is an objective, a goal or an aspiration, but I hope it is a clear instruction!
We've been putting this off for sometime and now the time has come to bite the bullet. All Social Media channels need setting up and advice needs to be given on how to keep the whole lot up to date in a time effective manner. (I dread having my time sapped by this, hence the 'keep putting it off' statement above!).
I also want to only post things that are interesting or funny. This will extend the 'vibe' that we have in our shop out to the online community. I feel like killing myself when I read some of the pointless posts on Facebook and Twitter, another reason why perhaps I have been putting this off for so long. So, advice on how to do this too please.
Our product range doesn't lend itself to online purchasing. At the high end of the market people want to touch and feel what they might be buying so they call and then come in. At the lower end of the market, there is simply no money to be made in trying to sell guitar strings cheaper than the next man. So for these reasons the website is treated as being a shop window only. It is also under development at the moment with products being added as I get the time!
So really, I'd like to introduce our shop to a new set of customers, not just those who know us in St Albans. I'm not looking for world or even country domination, but 'the place to go in Hertfordshire' would be a great achievement.
Thanks for reading.
