Description
Experience Level: Entry
Estimated project duration: Ongoing
Newborn Startups is a startup discovery platform (http://newbornstartups.com).
Early adopters can keep up to date with the latest startups and discover new tools and services.
Entrepreneurs can submit their startups to gain more coverage, boost their traffic and increase signups.
That's the website in a nut-shell.
In order to eliminate copy-paste proposals, please start your proposal message with the word 'potato'.
The Role:
The website has grown in popularity over the past few months, and as a result there's an ever-growing pile of submissions waiting to be checked and processed. I need someone who can keep on top of this pile, and pick out the best submissions, and remove the bad ones. We get some spam, as well as plain awful submissions!
You will be opening the submissions (draft WordPress posts) and checking the written content for any obvious spelling and grammar issues, grabbing video embed URLs from YouTube videos, making basic styling tweaks to a few fields, and adding location tags based on partial information (so some very basic research may occasionally be required).
A simple PDF instruction manual will be provided.
The candidate will need to be very familiar with WordPress, have a great eye for detail, have a good understanding of HTML and have a good command of the English language.
There is a publishing calendar in place, so the majority of work will take place either on Sundays or Mondays. The candidate will be moderating and scheduling submissions to cover a 7 day period, with an average of 16 startups per week. Therefore, I believe that it will only be 3 hours work per week. I will also be doing some of the moderation, but will leave the majority of publishing up to the successful candidate.
If you have any questions, feel free to post them on the clarification board below.
This will be an ongoing role.
