Segment profitability analysis

We would like your help in estimating the profitability by segment, using your accountancy and analytical skills along with online sources, of the following automotive component segments:

Chassis electrical
Brakes
Wheels
Tyres
HVAC
Exhaust & Emissions
Fuel Delivery
Engine
Body structure
Greenhouse, i.e. glazing, sunroofs, wipers.
Exterior Trim
Interior
Engine electrical

For each segment, we need to get a better understanding of how profitable each is, from the standpoint of a potential new entrant making injection moulded components.

In addition to segment profitability, we would like to get a better understanding of the gross profit margins by product for the above segments. We are not expecting profit margins for every product, just anecdotal evidence of anything relevant, particularly in respect of injection moulded parts.

To help you get started, we can elaborate on each segment in terms of automotive product groups, major manufacturers (with published accounts and good sources of information). The desk research would include sources such as annual reports, 10k SEC annual filings (for US-based companies) and your other online sources.

We would like a 4,000-word Word document setting out the above, ideally by 2nd March.
