Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: Not sure
Note to potential freelancers.
I have a VERY good idea how much work and effort is required for this task, and what needs to be done.
It is time-critical and this is the second posting of this job, since unfortunately, the first freelancer didn't put in work and put the site recovery in jeopardy. Since we are now 2 weeks since the penalty, I am looking for someone who can carry out this task within 10 days.
Most of the links have now been removed (by me contacting hosts). So this should be an (albeit meticulous) audit and evidencing task in the main. There are 25000 links on Google. Approx 15,000 have been removed. There are 7800 backlinks evident on AHREFS.
It is essential a proper site audit is carried out (using at least 3 different backlink sources), to be run past me to check for errors; a spreadsheet created for Google to provide hard evidence of which domains were contacted, what the response was, and which backlinks were removed; and finally a reconsideration request email to Google (to be approved by me) to be sent to Google and to include links to all the hard evidence in a Google spreadsheet. A guide to the process is here: https://www.advancedwebranking.com/blog/writing-a-reconsideration-request-for-manual-google-penalties/
No shortcuts can be taken - this is important.
Please take note of the email from Google and points 1-5 which must be carried out to the letter as Google has requested.
Original brief:
Hi - we have received a Google manual action for unnatural links today. (Sitewide) This is the action we have taken so far:
We've downloaded the links from Google Search Console and SEM backlink audit which we don't recognize or which looked spammy, and we've emailed (where possible) the websites linking to our site, contacted the hosts (where possible - but most were not traceable) and asked them to remove any links to our site. We've also disavowed the links on Google search console. We've sent a request to Google detailing what we've done. We're awaiting Google's response.
This has come as a total shock to us and we are very worried about what will happen to our site. We've done the best we can but this is way out of my comfort zone and we suspect our site has been the target of negative SEO.
We've since read online that Google has preferred ways of dealing with this (with evidence and Google docs etc) - which is why we would prefer a professional with experience to deal from this point onwards.
I really need someone who has successful (and preferably verifiable) experience dealing with Google Manual Action recovery for unnatural links, who can remove the toxic links for us by contacting the websites involved and who can respond to Google on our behalf to ensure the manual action is lifted. Happy to provide the website address in messaging and also happy to listen to offers. The site in question has 7,507 backlinks according to SEMrush backlink audit.
Please, advise and respond if you are able to resolve this and indicate an anticipated timescale.
Email from Google which details what must be carried out: How to fix this problem:> 1 Download a sample of links to your site. Download sample links in either CSV or Google Documents by clicking Download more sample links. (Search Traffic > Links to your Site > More >>). Links to Your Site > 2 Collect a list of artificial links to your site
Look for links that could be paid or links created solely to manipulate your site's ranking. > 3 Contact website owners who have artificial links to your site. Ask them to remove or add a 4 Disavow remaining links. Only use the disavow tool if you have made a good-faith effort to have a link removed or tagged as 5 Submit a reconsideration request
