Description
Experience Level: Expert
The aim of this task is to research websites, blogs and communities that might provide quality inbound links to a piece of quality content hosted on my website.
The content will vary, but to illustrate the task I will go with an example:
I am proposing to create a piece of content providing everything that developers need to know about UK postcodes, for example, how the syntax is defined, how to validate, sources of open data etc. This content will be part visual and part text, with a standalone infographic, any of which can be used by the target resource.
I am a developer myself, with extensive expertise in working with UK postcodes, and so I will produce the content.
What I am looking for is someone to help research the resources I need to target with outreach. I will then do the actual outreach as I want to establish the contacts.
Example resources: Universities with lists of useful resources for their programming students, GIS bloggers, open data evangelists, .gov resources, specialist programming communities.
I am also interested in relevant Twitter accounts.
The deliverables will be:
- Link to the resource
- Contact details for whoever maintains that resource (e.g. name, email address, link to submission form, Twitter handle)
You should understand the criteria for quality links, e.g. DA.
You should understand and have access to the tools required to find sites which provide relevant inbound links, e.g. OSE.
You will probably be reasonably technical in order to understand and navigate your way through the uni sites, technical blogs, websites, and dev/data communities.
Please respond explaining how you fit the above criteria, and with examples of similar work you have undertaken.
Note that I will be doing a number of specific outreach campaigns over the coming year, all of which will be related to the subject of data, so ideally I would like someone I can form a longterm working relationship with.
