I posted this a while ago and awarded it to a freelancer. Unfortunately, he didn't start the project and has now stopped working altogether due to health reasons. Just to mention before I post the details that I'm looking for a UK-based freelancer who can start fairly soon. If you want the URLs and keywords, I believe you'll have to submit a proposal, no matter how brief. I'm not sure if you can send me a private message but I don't think it's worth asking on the 'Clarification Board' because replies are public and I can't access your profile to contact you. Here is the overview:
I'm looking to increase the organic search positions of two websites. They are lead generation sites for the UK home energy efficiency industry. Most leads that come through are sold for a fixed price to installers who carry out the work. There is quite a bit of history behind them but I'll try to keep it brief:
SITE 1:
Launched in June 2007 and quickly ranked well for all key terms. Had a fair bit of SEO carried out over the first few years from a couple of agencies and two in-house personnel. This saw us in high page 1 positions for all key terms. Unfortunately, a lot of the work was 'black hat' and we suffered at the hands of Panda and Penguin. We tried to recover it via a small agency but with limited success and it hasn't had much SEO work for several years now. I had a go at disavowing some of the bad links but I don't know if I did more harm than good.
We launched a new, mobile friendly version of the site recently and got rid of all the old news/articles pages. The site went from hundreds of pages to just 35. I don't know if that was a good idea or not but the old pages were all created to manipulate search results. I'm not sure if this will affect rankings but hopefully they'll settle down to be roughly the same.
I would like the back links to be re-checked on this site plus webmasters contacted and/or the disavow file re-uploaded if appropriate. There are six terms that we used to rank well for and most are now on page 2 or 3 (although not always the correct page). There are another 3 terms related to new services that have since been added which are in low to mid page 1 positions and could do with being improved.
SITE 2:
Bit of a strange one this site. Launched in 2013 and has had little or no SEO work. Ranked well initially for four key terms. Two terms slowly slipped from high page 1 positions and they now appear to be at page 3 and 6 respectively. The other two terms appear to be ranking No.1 or No.2 and we can see that in the leads coming through the system. I'd obviously like to maintain this position and make sure they don't slip in the same way the other terms have. There are variations of another term that are in mid page 1 positions, so they could do with being improved/maintained. This site was also re-vamped and converted to Wordpress in May this year but it wasn't drastically different to previous versions.
Generally speaking, we need more leads coming through our system. Site 1 has slowed down drastically over the past few years and is getting to the point where it will no longer be viable unless we do something about it. Site 2 is heading the same way.
If you are interested in undertaking the work, I'm looking to get an idea of costs and what would be involved to get the sites moving back up the rankings. I'm not the most engaging writer in the world but I could write some content. It depends what type of thing you'd be looking for and how often you would need it.
Thanks,
