Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
So the first thing I would want to look at doing is the following, if we could look at doing this as a start and then perhaps there is a larger project to follow. I need someone who has had experience with doing this sort of thing in the past.
Creation of a Outlook Add-in
Want an add-in button in the read message window (sent and received).
Button to perform a javascript function which performs an AJAX post to a PHP page (I will write the PHP).
Data being sent with the POST to include all relevant details of the email message i.e. UUID, subject, message body (plain & HTML if possible), whether the message was incoming or outgoing, details of the recipients, date/time received and details of any attachments (if we can get base64encoded strings for these that would be great).
Would need some error handling here e.g. the php page at the end of the AJAX post will return a JSON object in the format {“result”: “error”, “details” : “some kind of a message about the return”} where the result with either be success or error. If the result is error I want to be able to notify the user in Outlook some how - maybe with a pop up dialog or similar. Ideas are welcome here.
Most importantly I would need any code written by you to be extensively documented.
If I have the time the idea is for whoever takes on this project to get me started, although if I don't have the time and I have the budget there is a chance I will ask you to do the other items here, but to start with I just want to look at this one element. The documentation is incredibly important as I want to be able to support this feature myself going forward and not to incur extra costs here.
Hope that all makes sense, if you have any questions please let me know!
Oh and the add-in needs to be able to work cross platform (not sure if this is relevant but possibly worth mentioning).
