Rearrange 3'30 min song in laid-back funky/soul style

Thanks for checking out my proposal. I'd like help in re-arranging an original song composed by my dad as a surprise gift. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer earlier this year (still localised) and he was a pretty good jazz/pop musician back in the day and talks about having some of his songs re-recorded differently, so this would be ideal. His version is a 1980's jazz/pop track, and I'd like to update it to a laid-back funky soul version, and have a track by the musician Melody Gardot I'd like to use as a blueprint. As a musician myself, I have a clear idea of the re-arranged piece.

We'll be combining adaptation with creativity to come up with something new. There will still be room to include your ideas. If you like getting paid for a musical challenge, and you like the track, I really think you'll enjoy the job!

It's not as complex as some of you might think! I have a clear idea of the final piece, and it doesn't have to be perfect...just demo-ready. We would fit the original melody and English lyrics, some production and orchestration into the Melody Gardot feel. I'm happy to have a chat on skype to go through it, etc.

Ideally you would have some experience writing, or producing soul, pop, R&B and electronic. Do you work with Logic, and are you a good communicator? I'd love to work with you, and in return you'll get a reliable client who pays on time!

Re-arranging is something I normally wouldn't do, but sometimes a turn of events in life makes you come up with opportunities like this. Can you help? I'd like to have a basic version ready by Sunday afternoon as I'll be in the studio with some musicians to try some ideas. If you have a singer to sing the melody on top that would great, just as a guide.
I'd like at least 3 versions to get it right.
