Need to be top of page 1 Google

‘Ooh, I never knew you were here’ is wearing pretty thin now….

We are a music shop in St Albans, Herts and have been since 1980. We specialize in guitars and more recently Yamaha pianos. We’d like to be top of the Google rankings so that the above statement becomes a thing of the past.

Our product range isn’t necessarily something that people will blindly take a punt on and order online (we have this capability, although our online sales performance could at best be described as sub-optimal). Our experience is that people tend to visit the website first, identify that there is a good selection of products available to evaluate and then they pay us a visit. In many respects we’re a bit like a showroom and this is something that we quite like.

There are some areas of the website that we would like to change / improve, but these don’t necessarily form part of this initiative. We just want to appear at the top of the Google list when someone types in ‘guitar shop st albans’ or ‘yamaha pianos herts’ etc etc. Or any other common phrases for that matter. If they visit the website, they’ll visit us and then we can convert the sale from there.

So we’d like to hear from people who have done this sort of thing before, have a successful track record in retail and charge sensible fees. Our website is www.themusicdept.com.
