Hello.
We are struggling with feedback sound in the room. The main issue is the same sound going directly into the mixer used, is also being picked up from the Studio speaker from the mic that the host is wearing. I will detail the equipment used below.
Host wearing a >multidirectional lav Mic > connected to the Mixer > connected to the laptop > OBS > Live stream.
A iPhone to call guest live on air > connected to separate loud speaker.
So what we have been doing is the audience will listen to the host through the laptop directly however they listen to the guest dependent on hosts mic as the mic is picking up the sound from the loud speaker which is in the same room.
So what we are looking for, is for the sound from host via iPhone to go into the laptop > OBS, at the same time we want to be able to hear the guest through the speaker in the studio so the host can hear what is being said etc (host strictly cannot wear earphone/headphones)
The problem is we don’t want the hosts mic to pick up the same sound that is going into the laptop and also on the speaker in the studio. I need something that knows not to pick up the same sound on the speaker that is already wired into the mixer.
So the audience can hear the guest on the iPhone speaker directly to the laptop and the host can also hear the guest from the loud speaker without the mic picking it up and sending it back through the mixer and through to OBS.
We tried the Roland VR-4HD as that had echo cancellation however did not work. I did some research and I think I may need something that is stereo EAC?
