Sound edited on a video

I have a guitar and voice song of 5 mins but the guitar is too loud so the words are not all clear enough. I don't have the will go back and re record! Just need it to be a little better than now. No other editing to do apart from knocking off a second or so at the ed where I was switching off the video from my iphone.

If the sound cant be tweaked is there a way of adding the words as text say verse for verse superimposed or as moving subtitles?
