Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Looking for a
Compact “people counter” to be battery operated: the solution will need to be installed within a post, so electronics & battery can be held within the post. The sensor will need to be something like a proximity sensor with a LCD screen counting up as people pass: However there needs to be a way of not multiple counting people just standing in front of the sensor.
There is no opportunity to use a reflector or receiver it must be a proximity sensor perhaps like a triangulated IR.
1 Max distance reach required 60 cm minimum 25 cm
2 Minimum 6 months battery life (if it will run on 3.6v all the better)
3 Visual led or similar screen so operator can see the incremental numbers and reset: possibly with a pin or magnet
In short the end product will sit within a Queuing barrier as seen in airports: it will be used to count people leaving or entering a queue
