Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Description:
The SMS app will run automatically when launched, and then there will be a button that says CONFIG and a button that says EXIT
App Function is Automatic:
1. The app will wait for a new sms text message to arrive
2. When a message arrives, the app will collect three pieces of information; a) the phone number of the device b) the phone number of the sender c) the contents of the text message from the sender
3. This data will then be sent using HTTP POST to the URL from the CONFIG setting
4. The app will wait for a reply from our URL (our reply will be in XML or JSON, let me know which is best for Android)
5. Our reply will have a SMS message to be returned to the sender by SMS
6. After the message has been returned to the sender by SMS, you can delete the SMS string on the device
App CONFIG:
1. When the CONFIG button is selected, there are two fields to complete and a button that says REMOTE CONFIGURE
2. Field 1 is a URL field
3. Field 2 is a Password field
4. When both fields are completed and then the user selects REMOTE CONFIGURE the device will use its data connection to go to that URL from field 1 and after connection is established it will pass the Password from field 2, and we will return a configuration string.
5. The Configuration string we return will have these fields; a) the URL for the app to send its HTTP POST b) device ID c) Time field to leave the connection open, default will be 30 seconds if not closed
