I need someone who has plenty of experience to phone prospects, to see if the prospect would like to meet with an independent financial adviser in the comfort of their own home to talk about any financial issues with particular emphasis on their pension arrangements, life cover arrangements or investments. The prospect is told the initial discussion is completely free and no obligation with a properly qualified IFA.
I need to work with the same person who makes the appointments. This cannot be farmed put between two or more people.
I provide the phone list, you make the appointment, getting some details from the prospect, eg how old they are, whether married with kids, the sort of work they do, a few soft facts, the sort of financial matter they want to talk about, so I can visit them with something to talk about. These details, including name and address need to be faxed or emailed to me for each appointment you make.
I send out the letter to the prospect confirming the date and time of the visit.
I will need to talk on the phone with the telemarketer, to see if we get on as a team.
The telemarketer will need to maintain a diary of appointments made and I will update him/her with my diary, so there are no clashes.
I will need good phone and email access to the telemarketer so we can discuss anything that crops up. I usually have a time of day for diary updates/ discussions which we agree that's convenient for both of us; usually in the morning, weekdays
I cannot work with anyone who 'disappears' for days at a time out of contact, unless it's for things like holidays. Reliability is critical.
I will need 2 to 3 appointments per week generally. These are made about a week or two in advance, so I have time to send the appointment letter to the client.
As my clients are consumers, they are generally best called when they get in at the end of the day.Teelmarketer phone sessions would therefore start about 6pm and end about 8pm weekdays. It's up to you, but that's the best time to be productive.
The appointments made would be for me to see the client any time in the day and in the evening up to 7.30pm. I don't visit people at weekends.
My last telemarketer worked with me for 12 years until they retired. It was useful arrangement for him and myself.
