Job Description - Sales Representative
Position Scope:
The Sales Reresentative will be instrumental in developing the strategic direction and building SME sales for Office Supplies Gateway. The newly created position will work closely with the Business Relationship Manager to develop a framework and lead sales activities that capitalize on this important new channel for OSG. Determined by the success of the individual, responsibilities will grow to the hiring and mentoring of new sales reps to assist selling efforts.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- In conjunction with OSG management, establish best operating practices including setting sales objectives, selling strategies and tactics.
- Build and maintain a database of potential SME customers utilizing all means available including; paid lists, professional associations & memberships, business directories, telephone directories, etc.
- Research and identify potential new SME customers within targeted market segments.
- Plan and execute direct customer contact through direct mail, email, fax blasts, cold calls, etc.
- Effectively close customer sales over the phone.
- Conduct personal sales presentations to high potential customers where required.
- Respond to web inquiries and individual customer requests.
- Maintain a daily call log with relevant customer details including Decision Makers, Company Name, Address, Phone and email.
- Prepare quotes and tender contracts for larger customers as required.
- Follow up of prospects generated from outside contact selling activities and convert to sales.
- Monitor and report sales figures and targets to the BRM and Director on a weekly basis.
- Monthly status updates to BRM and Director regarding work in progress, market opportunities, achievements, etc.
- Meet agreed sales and retention targets

- Superior knowledge of MS Office and Excel in particular.
