Experience Level: Intermediate
We are looking for a researcher with a combination of economic and marketing understanding.
The project involves looking at 5 jurisdictions in Canada (the names will be provided to the successful person). This includes the base jurisdiction and 4 comparator communities.
The following factors need to be included and considered.
1. The logos, tagline and presentation impression of the economic development website
2. The positioning statement or value proposition for business investment (relocation, expansion) in each jurisdiction (ie, why they say businesses should locate there)
3. The top 3-5 sectors that each jurisdiction promotes as their key sectors
4. The top 5-10 economic strengths (reasons to locate)
5. Any business or population marketing initiatives that the jurisdiction is involved in (if it’s possible to find this information on the website)
6. Any obvious audience targeting – who are they looking to attract to their region?
7. Cost of doing business comparison, specifically tax and any other cost factors that can be compared across all 5 sites with available data
Brief summarized analysis on areas or factors in which the base community stands out or has advantages.
The report will need to be provided in a word document template (we will provide the template) and the key marketing positioning information (items 1-3) in powerpoint slides (we will provide the template).
We have a short timeline for this work, but all the information is readily available online.
