Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Sales executive urgently required to assist a start-up events company with delegate and sponsorship sales for an upcoming conference on the mining sector in the Middle East. The conference will be held in September 2011 in London, UK.
This appointment is advertised on a contract basis until September 2011, with possibility for extension beyond that date.
Key responsibilities include:
• Selling to an existing list of prospective attendees.
• Generating individual leads through desktop/online research and analysis of industry publications.
• Meeting targets for daily calls and emails in line with conference organisational requirements.
• Provide regular updates to the Sales Manager in the form of daily and weekly reports.
• Assisting the Sales Manager with all aspects of the sales process, including conference organisation and wider event marketing.
• Take an active role in the planning, evolution, and general marketing of the conference.
• Liaise with prospective customers through the entire registration process through to completion of payment.
• Manage and update an existing contact database in conjunction with the sales process.
Specifications sought:
• Previous experience in selling corporate events essential.
• Proven track-record in telemarketing and targeting senior corporate decision-makers (CEO or MD).
• Self-motivated with a polite and courteous telephone manner.
• Professional in dealings with clients, both on the phone and over email.
• Excellent, articulate use of English, both verbal and written.
• Cooperative and collaborative- able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Educated to degree standard.
• Fluency in a foreign language preferred, but not essential.
• Ability to work in the UK. Applications without the requisite work permits will not be considered.
