Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I need someone to find potential clients who will commission portrait paintings and bronze busts from me - in classic or contemporary styles, in watercolours or oils. Priced from £650 to £5,000, each likeness is excellent and offers the quality of the Royal Society of Portrait Artists/Sculptors, for half the price.
My portraits are perfect for all styles of interiors and for special gifts or occasions. The idea appeals to all age groups, commissioning portraits of themselves, their children or grandchildren, their parents or grandparents, and even of their ancestors from old family photographs.
Once you introduce the idea of having a portrait, to a prospect you have found who could afford it, then my work (seen on my website) is always well received. My clients are usually cash rich and time poor, and appreciate not having to pose for several hours/sessions. I just take reference shots at a half-hour photo session.
My website is impressive and reassuringly informative and professional for prospective clients. Any location in the UK is possible, and I ensure clients get the portrait they want, on time, by involving them at all planning and development stages, emailing images for fast and convenient approval.
I believe an hourly paid fee is not necessary, because you will quickly appreciate how effectively you can sell the idea of a portrait within various interest, income or professional groups and capitalise on referrals.
I propose a 15% commission fee, which averages £300 per portrait because the average first sale is £2,000. Your commission fees would be payable immediately in 2 stages: after the 50% deposit is paid with the signed contract, and after the final 50% is paid on completion of the portrait. Clients usually commission more portraits after the first, increasing the sales worth for each successful lead you generate.
You only need to find good prospects, interested in principle, and offer them a free session with me to discuss creative ideas for their portrait. This session invariably inspires confidence and enthusiasm to go ahead and sign the contract to commission the portrait.
