Job description:
You will be introducing a new imaging product/service to estate agents. You will methodically go through lists of estate agents (except the national chains), and get through all the obstacles to speak to the owner, or the top management.
Your object is to introduce the service/product and get permission (plus the e-mail address of the person you are talking to) to send them a personal e-mail from yourself, with a link where they can see the product in action. You then phone them back after they have received it, and try and get them to take up a free trial using one of their premier properties for sale.
The free trial involves them sending us (by email/s) a set of full size photographs / plans / maps, and telling us exactly what order they want these images to appear in the zoomable slideshow. We also need full details of your contact, their business website address, and their phone number/e-mail address. We will need to speak to them before we make the slideshow.
We take their images, and work them into the show. We test the show, upload it to our servers in the cloud overnight, and the following day we send them a link to a web page that will display their property slideshow. We will also give them the code, and explain to them how to insert this into their website, so this test show can be seen by their customers. (It's the same as putting a YouTube video into a web page).
We are looking for quotes from experienced telesales people, who have an ability to get hold of the right person in the organisation, get them to try out the free offer. From this stage we can probably deal with it ourselves.
Please quote us your price for getting 50 free trials of our service/product, from estate agents, at a rate of no more than 10 a day.
Alternatively, you could stay involved beyond this stage and take a cut (quote your percentage), of the estate agents first 3 months bills for our services rendered.
What is the product ?
A quick run around most estate agents websites will show that some are getting a better grip on using images to sell the property, than others. Quite often their web designers would have worked out a way where the potential customer can click on a thumbnail and an image opens up in a new window, or some kind of variation on this theme. You will often find a Google map showing the location of the property, possibly a floor plan, and sometimes energy efficiency graphs.
What you will not find, ever, is high resolution digital photographs that can highlight the tiniest detail. The reason being they are far too MB intensive, and slow down the page so much so as to make it useless.
Our zoomable slideshow viewer takes property viewing online to a new level altogether. Any image, whether it be high-resolution photograph, detailed plan, or map can be fitted into our slideshow (in the order dictated by the estate agent). The viewer of the estate agents website will see one viewer which slowly rotates through all the images, sized to fit the available area. This can be any size the estate agent needs to fit in perfectly with his current website. There is no limit to the number of images, or the size of the images that can be used within the system. The website visitor can scroll through all the thumbnails related to that property at will, click on any and put it in the main screen.
Now the clever bit, the unique bit, and the bit we've never seen on an estate agents website. Once the image is in the screen, it can be progressively enlarged, dragged and panned, until you can see the tiniest detail. It can be used to examine absolutely everything in the greatest detail available from the original image. All images connected with the property can be put within the one viewer, it is irrelevant if some are huge and some are quite small, it is irrelevant whether they are portrait or landscape orientated.
One image viewer for one property. This can free up the rest of the page from clutter. Because it moves by itself slowly, fading from one image to another, it catches the viewer's attention. Because it is interactive, and the viewer can enlarge and pan each image himself, it captures attention. It is easy and intuitive to use. It does not slow down webpage loading, images are loaded up as required.
Our service involves making the complete slideshow from images supplied. Uploading the resulting viewer (which is absolutely huge, 35MB is not uncommon) into our cloud servers. We host and store the images (which consist of thousands of individual tiles). We provide simple HTML code (just like embedding a YouTube video) and help the client understand how to insert this into their webpages. If they can write and upload text to their website, they can insert these shows. It shouldn't need any help from their web designer to do this. It would be totally impractical for estate agents to store upload and serve these images from their own website servers.
We charge £25 upwards for each show produced, uploaded and stored. It's a time intensive job, the uploading of the finished show can take over one hour even with really high speed connections, let alone the production. Basically the more images the estate agent requires within the show, the more it ends up costing... because each individual image has to be broken down into hundreds of tiles, and then linked together with all the other images.
We can do a better deal for regular contract work, and for larger and national chains we can train staff, set up cloud computing, licence the technology... and generally get them set up to do it all themselves for under £500 odd (although it is so time intensive they may find it better use us anyway).
Who are we ?
We're not allowed to give contact details here. Suffice to say that our experience has been gained in a completely different field, we are experts in the nautical area. We run a busy sailing/boating/pilotage/navigation website, and we work under license from the British Admiralty. Over the last year or so we have gained enormous cutting-edge experience at dealing with enormous and unwieldy images (think navigation charts about 4' x 4'), and getting them into a form where they can be used on the web without losing a single detail.
We deal with thousands of these huge images, and have had to develop infrastructure to cope with storage and hosting.
The slideshows we are offering are direct spin-off from the experience we have gained. Cloud storage and hosting allows us to offer an all in price to the estate agent for each show. If they tried doing this on their own servers they would compromise their own website's speed and reliability.
We look forward to hearing from you.
