Human Appeal is a faith-based charity that aims to abolish poverty by providing humanitarian aid, sustainable development programs and championing advocacy for our beneficiaries worldwide.
We are currently recruiting for a Graphic Designer to join Human Appeal’s integral Marketing and Communications department on a Maternity Cover basis at the Charity’s Head Office in Cheadle, Greater Manchester.
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality creative ideas and produce engaging graphic design content to promote awareness of the Human Appeal brand, acquiring new audiences and retaining existing donors.
The Role:
Salary of £20,000 - £27,500 per annum, depending on experience
Working with the wider Communications department to deliver Human Appeal’s marketing strategy and increase income generation
Using design innovation to develop branding content for use in presentations, websites, print and other media
Editing and manipulating photos using professional design software
Presenting and articulating ideas to the team and other stakeholders, creating pitch documents
Giving regular constructive feedback on the team’s design work and support other designers when required by sharing ideas or giving direction
Editing and proof reading copy by adhering to design checklist
Producing print-based collateral such as posters, flyers, newsletters by using professional page layout and graphic design software
Contributing to social media content by designing layouts to suit Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn
The Ideal Candidate:
Educated to Degree level in a relevant discipline e.g. Graphics, Art, Digital Marketing
A proven track record in graphic design, with at least 1-2 years of relevant experience in a creative industry
Computer literate and proficient in MS Office Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator and other Graphic Design software
Excellent written and spoken English. Additional languages e.g. Arabic, Urdu desirable
Adapts and responds positively to change with a willingness to learn
Supports others, working effectively with individuals, teams, clients and staff
Creative and imaginative, with a flair for producing engaging content
Highly organised, with an ability to multitask and manage a busy workload
Ability to think creatively, within the constraints of time and budget
Results focused, with an ability to plan and deliver against objectives
Confident in dealing with a range of stakeholders
