Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
Summary:
I am doing an online research project to gather information about how public companies have adopted Investor Days and Capital Markets Days (CMDs) as a means of communicating with investors between 2017 and 2020. I need some assistance in data-gathering.
Background:
Large public companies typically host Investor Day/CMD/Strategy Day events every 1-3 years (if at all), as a means of keeping their large shareholders and analysts up to date with their strategy. These events usually involve a series of presentations given by the CEO, CFO and senior management at a half or full day event. Traditionally these have been live, in-person events with a webcast and presentations made available on the company website for those who can’t attend. The lockdown has driven most events to be virtual-only in the last year.
Sometimes companies do smaller events/presentations for the same audience, focusing on a narrower subject matter or a business division. We are also interested in these, but as a separate category.
What we are NOT interested in are the scheduled periodic results presentations, or investor presentations given at Conferences and/or other events organised and hosted by third parties.
Companies to be covered and sources of information:
The names of the companies will be provided in the project spreadsheet - there are c.275 companies in total, mostly from the UK, some from the EU. All companies will have English language websites.
For each company you will need to source the information from the investor section of the corporate website.
Data to be gathered:
Further details will be provided, but for each company you will need to provide the following information:
- A URL for the source of the information
- Dates of any main CMD events taking place in each of the last four years
- Numbers of any additional/other investor events taking place in each of the last four years
- The date of any future CMD or other investor events
Your skills and experience:
Familiarity with the Investor Relations and/or Corporate Communications environment will be helpful in understanding the material you are looking for and in applying judgement where things are not clear. Accuracy and completeness are really important. You will have excellent English language skills, verbally and in writing.
Project completion:
We need the project to be completed within 7 days of initiation. I propose a staged delivery so that we can ensure mutual understanding of the project requirements.
