Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
General information for the business: We are an IT Managed Services company based in Bristol, UK. We are looking to expand our client base and want to get a feel for current market prices for similar services across our territory.
Industry: Technology
Geographical areas: South West (Bristol and surrounding areas), London (and surrounding areas), and M4 Corridor.
Data to include: Goal:
Discover and query existing IT Managed Services pricing structures
Primary territory: in the BS and BA post codes (Bristol and Bath respectively). 20 pricing examples. Bristol more important than Bath. We are based in BS1.
Secondary territories: Central London (5 examples), London outskirts (for example Zones 4 to 6 on the underground, or inbetween the A406 and the M25 by road) - 5 examples
Our market is SMEs (sweet spot is between 10 and 50 staff) - and we offer technical support through to web development work, managed services and Cloud Hosted solutions.
An example Managed Services Agreement would look something like:
Unlimited Remote Support
Unlimited Remote AND on-site support
This would normally be based on Managed Services including:
Per device (workstations, servers) technical support etc - workstations will be £X per month, servers will be £Y per month etc.
Antivirus
Alerting/Monitoring (faciltated by Endpoint Management Software normally)
Domain name / hosting / website monitoring
This model normally has a "minimum standards" setup, ie devices will only be supported if they are a) less than 3 years old b) meet minimum RAM level. >> it's important we get an idea of what "standards" these companies offer their managed services under.
Example pricing I am therefore looking for is:
1. How much would it cost for a company with 10 PCs, 5 laptops and 1 "Small Business Server" (supplying their network, files and email, for example) - to have unlimited support?
2. Same as above but with 40 PCs, 10 laptops, 2 physical "host" servers with 8 "virtual servers" running on it.
3. Same as above but for a "micro-business" ie 4 computers, no servers, but unlimited support still required.
4. Same as above but much larger - 250 PCs, 20 servers, etc.
The most important information for us is.....
a) What is the cost for unlimited support for a server?
b) Are different servers price differentiated, and how?
c) What is the cost for unlimited support for workstations/laptops? Is there any differentiation in the "type"?
