Description
We are a publishing agency looking for a creative and strategic marketing professional to support us with book launch funnels, launch strategy, and content repurposing campaigns for nonfiction authors.
We are looking for someone who can potentially become a long-term collaborator, as we are currently expanding the marketing side of our publishing services.
## What We Are Looking For
We currently have two types of projects:
1. 3-Month Book Launch Campaign
We already have an existing publishing offer for which we need support developing and executing a 3-month book launch strategy.
2. 6-Month Book Launch + Repurposing Campaign
We are also developing a larger publishing offer that includes a 6-month marketing campaign: 3 months before the book launch and 3 months after the launch.
The major difference is that these authors will also be actively guesting on podcasts.
The goal is to create an interconnected marketing ecosystem:
Book + Podcast Appearances → Repurposed Content → Audience Building → Leads → Pre-orders → Book Launch → Continued Book Sales
We are not simply looking for someone to post content on social media. We want someone who understands strategy, funnels, repurposing, and customer journeys.
We particularly value someone who can bring their own ideas and strategic thinking to the table rather than following a generic marketing template!
## Screening Task
To help us find the right person, we have created a small screening task based on a real book we recently published.
For the purpose of this exercise, imagine the book has not yet been published and will launch in three months
Book: Escape the 9–5
Manuscript:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1j-KPlPSlcMmGb1C3g3JfdJsvcohk551p/view?usp=sharing
Based on the book, please create a book launch funnel.
1. The funnel: Show the complete customer journey for Dina.
2. 90-day launch roadmap: What happens in Month 1, Month 2 and Month 3? What would they actually prioritize?
3. Repurposing example: Choose ONE specific section/idea from Dina's manuscript and show exactly how they'd turn it into, say, 5 pieces of content across different formats.
4. Implementation: What would they personally build/manage versus what resources would they need from your team?
5. Tech + automation: What tools would they use to build the funnel? Where would they use AI/automation, and where would they require human quality control?
6. KPIs: What would they measure to determine whether the funnel is working, and what would they change if it isn't?
7. Real-world constraint: Give them something like: “The author has a small existing audience and a limited advertising budget. What would you prioritize?”
Book Content → Awareness → Lead → Pre-order → Launch → Continued Book Sales
We intentionally do NOT want to give you a detailed formula for the funnel. Part of this screening is seeing what YOU would create from the book and how you think strategically.
This does not need to be beautifully designed or developed into a complete marketing strategy. Please keep it to one or two pages. We mainly want to understand your strategic thinking, creativity, and ability to turn a book into a cohesive launch campaign.
## Previous Experience & Work Samples
Please share 2–3 examples of relevant work you have done previously. Previous experience specifically with book launches is not required, but it is a big plus.
Please also tell us a little about your experience and why you believe you would be a good fit for this collaboration.
## Pricing
Please include your pricing expectations in your application.
If possible, please provide an indication of what you would charge for:
* A 3-month book launch strategy, funnel building, and content repurposing campaign
* A 6-month book launch and repurposing campaign, including repurposing content from the author's podcast appearances
## How to Apply
Please email your complete application by Sunday, September 13, 2026
Your application should include:
* Your completed screening task
* 2–3 relevant work samples
* A short introduction about your experience
* Any book launch or author marketing experience, if applicable
* Your pricing expectations for the 3-month and 6-month campaigns
Please make sure you read and understand the entire project description before applying.
**Applications that do not include both the completed screening task and relevant work samples will not be considered.**
After the deadline, we will review all complete applications and contact selected candidates with the next step.

Hi, I’m interested in the strategic nature of this opportunity, particularly the combination of book launch funnels, content repurposing and the longer-term publishing offer you’re developing. Before I invest time in completing the screening task, I’d like to clarify a few points about the role and the collaboration:
1. Is the screening exercise being used solely to evaluate candidates, or could elements of the submitted strategy be incorporated into the client’s actual marketing campaign?
2. If selected, would the successful person be responsible for implementing the strategy as well as developing it, including funnel setup, automation, content planning and campaign management?
3. How many authors/books would you expect the successful collaborator to support simultaneously once the publishing marketing service expands?
4. For the initial 3-month campaign, is there already an author and launch date confirmed, or is the “Escape the 9–5” exercise primarily being used as a hypothetical assessment?
5. What resources would typically be available from your team, such as designers, copywriters, video editors, developers, paid media specialists or account managers?
6. Who would own the client relationship and approve the strategic and marketing decisions during each campaign?
7. For the 6-month campaigns, would podcast outreach/booking be handled by your team, with the strategist receiving the recordings/content, or would podcast-related coordination also fall within this role?
8. What platforms are currently used for your publishing clients' websites, email marketing, CRM and automation, or would the successful collaborator be expected to recommend and implement the technology stack?
9. Beyond the initial campaign fees, how do you envisage the ongoing collaboration being structured, such as per-author project fees, monthly retainers or another arrangement?
10. Do you already have a confirmed pipeline of authors who will require these marketing services, and approximately how many campaigns are expected over the next 6–12 months?
11. What level of availability would you expect from the strategist during an active 3-month or 6-month campaign?
12. Is the marketing expansion already approved and funded, and when would the first paid client campaign be expected to begin after the selection process?
13. Could you also clarify whether the screening task is compensated in any way, given that it is based on a real published book and requires a strategic deliverable? -
not exactly a small sample. read a book and create a marketing plan
