Telephone Outreach Specialist

We are a small, specialist UK company providing professional mould surveying, mould remediation and associated building reinstatement services.

We are looking for an experienced, confident and professional telephone outreach specialist to make approximately 25–30 targeted calls to local councils, housing associations and other public-sector/government-level organisations.

This is not a high-volume telesales job. The quality of the conversation and the contacts obtained are much more important than simply making calls.

What we need you to do

Your role will be to contact relevant councils and housing organisations and:

Introduce our company and explain clearly what we do.
Identify the correct department or person responsible for areas such as:
Housing repairs
Property maintenance
Damp & mould
Environmental health
Compliance
Asset management
Building safety
Housing management
Procurement/contract management
Speak professionally and confidently with receptionists, administrators and relevant departments.
Where possible, get through to the appropriate decision-maker or someone who can point you in the right direction.
Explain that we are a specialist mould surveying and remediation company looking to establish relationships with councils and housing providers.
The main objective is to obtain a direct email address and the name of the relevant contact so that we can send our company information and arrange a further conversation.
Where appropriate, try to establish whether the organisation currently uses external contractors for mould surveying/remediation and how new contractors are considered or appointed.
Record useful information from every call.
Important

We do not want someone simply sending cold emails to generic council email addresses.

We believe that a short, professional telephone conversation first is much more effective. Once the correct person has been identified and, ideally, we have their direct email address, we can follow up with our company information, website and introduction.

If the person you speak to says they are not the correct contact, we want you to ask who the appropriate person or department would be and try to obtain their contact details.

The type of person we're looking for

You must be:

A confident and professional telephone communicator.
Comfortable speaking to councils, housing associations and public-sector organisations.
Experienced in B2B telephone outreach, appointment setting or business development.
Able to speak naturally rather than reading a rigid script.
Persistent but polite.
Comfortable dealing with receptionists and navigating larger organisations.
Good at asking the right questions to find the correct contact.
Able to accurately record names, departments, telephone numbers, email addresses and relevant information.

Previous experience contacting UK councils, local authorities, housing associations, government departments or other public-sector organisations would be a major advantage.

Initially, we are looking for approximately 25–30 targeted calls.

If the first batch produces good-quality contacts and conversations, there is potential for this to become ongoing work, with additional organisations and larger call lists provided.
