Telephone interviewers

We are a social and market research company that is looking to increase its pool of home-based telephone interviewers to conduct interviews with businesses and members of the public. Full guidance, training (where necessary) and support will be provided.

Work is ad hoc, but frequent and this is an excellent opportunity for someone that is looking for flexible and well paid work to fit in alongside other work and life responsibilities. We have some interviewers that have been with us for over a decade and enjoy working with us, as part of part-time/flexi working or a portfolio career.

You do not have to be a trained researcher or have experience in conducting telephone interviews, but you do have to be:
- Professional
- Reliable
- Flexible
- Have a "can-do" attitude
- Have a good telephone manner
- Be able to work with limited supervision and on your own initiative
- Comfortable using basic digital and internet systems - such as excel, on-line forms etc.

You also have to have sufficient space and quiet in your home to conduct telephone interviews and have access to a computer and the internet while conducting the interviews.

We have a couple of projects currently taking place where immediate starts are available for the right candidates. We provide full training, support and access to our calling system, so you do not incur any expenses while conducting interviews. And with all our projects you are provided with a contact list. In many projects you will be calling a 'warm' list, so it is not cold calling. While we are not asking you to make sales calls - all our work involves surveying people about social, public and local issues of importance.

Rates of pay are dependent on experience and the nature of each project. In your bid, please indicate your desired hourly rate. We tend to pay on a per completed interview basis, with pay between £7 and £15 per interview depending on the project. We try to work this out so that over several hours work, which can be conducted flexibly to suit your schedule, the average pay will work out around £10 to £15 an hour, or more depending on the project. However, some of our best interviewers earn considerably more as they become more experienced.
