We need someone who has previous experience of websites and/or magazine/print advertising, is organised, a self-starter, flexible, reliable, has excellent communication and customer service skills, can generate well written e-mails, has a professional sales manner, can sell over the phone and who will not damage our brand with hard selling.
Have you experience of selling advertising, either on-line or in-print? The leads provided are warm (they have shown an interest in THE BIKER GUIDE website) and so we would hope for some sales by telephone - Is that something you are good at and comfortable with? If so read on...
This job is posted for a small job of 60 calls to be done asap (ideally Tuesday/Wednesday or Thursday between 10.30 - 12.30 and 2 - 3) to establish a workable relationship and to hopefully give you more work for the following few days and at various times throughout the year. We are looking for people who can sell advertising over the phone into the directory on our website and also into the printed booklet and who would like to earn the extra 10% commission!
We are always looking for a talented sales people who can sell advertising over the phone (and have done before) into the directory on our website and also into a freemium annual printed booklet we produce. For the printed booklet, earnings are higher, which is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience of display advertising sales in print / magazine.
We already work with some talented people, however at the moment we need an extra push for our booklet.
To avoid confusion and what we want from you, we have included below as much information as possible, however once you start to work with us you will find we are quite laid back and all we want is for you to get on with it, send us the data at the end of the job with a brief explanation of what happened on the call and to be able to send us an email that shows your proposal skills!
To start we want feedback on 60 connected calls to 60 different places and with these calls we would expect some sales. For the 60 connected calls, we would only class one of these to be where you spoke to a person, however as most of the businesses we call are small the answer rate is good and should be 8 to 12 connected calls and spoken to in an hour.
The calls need to be made between the hours of 10 - 12.30 and/or 2 - 3. We state these times as that is when we have found is the best time to contact potential advertisers and so that your time is best spent. Sometimes you will be asked to call back at other times, which of course is ideal for those who want close sales.
As we are a niche website/publication, tele sales have a high conversion rate (usually 1 in 15). Any sales booked by you during these calls we would also give you 10% extra.
So if you have a strong sales personality, are innovative and a self-starter, have a professional manner and are able to commit to these calls, then let us know why we should consider you for this work, if you have a specific skill and that you are available for some or all of these hours. We are ideally looking for people with excellent telephone skills and a history of selling adverting on the phone and someone who wants to work with us on a regular basis.

Please note we do not want to work with agencies, people who will sub-contract this job out to others or indeed people who need to speak to us on the phone first to explain the job in depth.
Extra notes: Various marketing e-mails, f&b’s, scripts and more will be provided to you to help, however we are quite laid back and welcome people who can think on their feet, are resourceful and can just get on with the job in hand.
*The extra 10% will be processed when payment is made by the client to us, usually at the end of the month. We are a very honest company who will always reward our people.
