Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 3 - 4 weeks
The Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) is launching a new conference in 2026 to be the UK's leading event in emergency medicine. The conference will showcase cutting-edge research and innovative educational sessions in the world of emergency medicine, attracting delegates from the UK and internationally, offering both in-person and virtual attendance options.
We are seeking a single brand identity for the conference to reflect the UK's position as a leader in emergency medicine and be reflective of the fast-paced world of EM which attracts those who want to work in a challenging but rewarding environment.
The design must have synergy with RCEM's main brand: the College’s brand guidelines are attached to support with this. The goal is to create an evergreen brand that can be used for future iterations of the event.
The target audience for the conference includes doctors, nurses and other allied health professionals working in emergency medicine in the UK and internationally (with a particular focus on higher-income countries such as Australia and New Zealand).
The brand should be compelling and support the marketing and promotion of the event as a world leader, as well as the ability for it to be used in engagement pieces during and post-event.
We would like:
- Logo and visual identity
- Support strapline / overarching event name
- Assets that can be used across a variety of promotional materials both digital and printed
Process and timelines:
April – Initial ideas and pitches considered. You should include information about your budget, your approach, your ability to meet the required deadline and your organisation, including any green credentials. Deadline 08:00 (BST), Wednesday 30 April to be sent
May – Shortlisting and invitation to present detailed pitch to the College (w/c 12 May). Brief awarded.
June – Development, design and launch of new brand, with delivery of assets
The budget shown is not accurate as we are interesting hearing what you can provide.

For more clarification Catherine, here are some little questions I want to confirm before we move forward;
1. Would you like the strapline to be medically themed, inspirational, or focused on leadership?
2. Will the brand identity be used beyond the event (e.g., community-building, podcasts, or future training)?
3. Are there any existing RCEM campaigns or visual materials we should weave into the new identity?
Looking forward to your response so I can tailored my approach properly.
