Experience Level: Expert
Good morning!
This should be an interesting piece of work for a creative writer or marketer that can really help me bring a customer-centric view to the Life Hack "Diet" brand. You'll need to be fluent in English, and are probably either a frustrated dieter yourself or someone that really gets that mindset and that resonates with my copy below. I want to do this work on zoom calls initially where we brainstorm the ideas. In your reply now I'm looking for people that get the nuances of it, this is not a traditional take on dieting. In terms of me, I'm a one man band with a limited budget and I'm trying to launch an idea.
Long story short, I accidentally invented a diet which helps busy middle aged people that struggle to diet. So where
virtually every diet available dictates exactly how you need to live, instead on the Life Hack "Diet" they learn to build a healthier un-breakable routine around their own current life (not the perfect life a diet requires).
Weight loss your way:
Your life, your diet....
-Its very simple. Use your hunger to count your calories. Or: Eat less, as soon as you're hungry. It's as simple as that (although it takes a while to learn).
-It is empowering because they design their own diet around their life.
-And because it is based on failing, it's fail-proof.
-It actually isn't about weight loss (although this is what people focus on), it's about the fact that ignoring weight-loss every time we overeat actually just makes the voice in our head shout louder that we are a failure. We are effectively self-limiting ourselves.
-Life Hack "Diet" is about unlocking your dreams, although people don't realise that or even want that initially. This is an important point because I'm trying to focus on the hook to get them involved.
-A lot of the people I'm targetting aren't looking for a diet. In fact they are in denial and focusing on helping their family, friends and work. They have given up on their weight because it's too hard.
-The big problem with being overweight (most of my initial target market would be classified as obese) is that if you'r putting on weight regularly it means you blood sugar levels will be high, and this leads to type 2 diabetes which in turn basically can mean you lose 10 years of your life and have a poor quality of life when older.
-When they choose a diet, or look enviously at others they focus on the marketing fake honeymoon photos of thin people smiling in diet adverts, and their head tricks them into thinking these people are worry free. It's a complete lie!!! You'll actually have even more worries when you're thinner, because eating healthy can be stressful on top of all the other things you'll need to manage.
-Actually Diets work great. Its the people that fail them because they aren't mentally fit enough. that's why we burn out, and fall by the way-side, because a traditional diet is like an olympic workout.
-A lot of people that have moved to body positive have done so because of the toxic nature of diets which has caused them emotional pain (they hate the word diet and any advice about food). This body positive focus on eating what you want is just as bad as a diet. Where body positive is good for the mind, it is bad for your long term health. A traditional diet is the opposite.
-Traditional diets don't work for normal people because they're using a hammer to crack a nut. It's the wrong diet for the wrong personality.
-They don't need a restrictive diet, they need a flexible diet that lets them have bad and good days. That helps them on balance lose weight, and takes care of them when they feel unhappy (instead of causing the toxic thoughts).
-If you're able to lose weight yourself, the critic in your head becomes your biggest supporter, and you gain true confidence based on proof as opposed to positive messages that we tend to read online (which just make us worse and reinforce failure).
-The "demon" in peoples head that everyone talks about is actually our gut instinct, it's actually right , it's just a bit mis-calibrated. This is what takes time to fix, the mindset change can happen in literally 10 seconds!
I'm trying to get the brand messaging sorted and I need some brainstorming help to find my niche in the market. I need someone that understands the diet space, and knows how most people are gravitating towards body positive and actually away from diets. I'm looking for someone that can help me brainstorm and flesh out the messaging to build a messaging framework to use going forward.
In your reply please add a cv if you want, but most importantly I need to see you understand the space I am in by writing at least a line or two that shows you TOTALLY get what I'm saying. I'm afraid proposals asking just for more info or a chat will be ignored.
I really look forward to working with you.
Thanks,
Tom
