Graphic designer for logo + branding development needed

I am currently in search of a talented individual to take on a project to evolve our current logo and develop a branding style for my company.

We help small, local businesses by advertising them in our high-quality publication, featuring events and competitions.

Project Overview

We aim to modernise our logo and establish a new brand style that inspires trust through confident and clear branding. The new concept will be consistently applied across all our marketing assets, remaining true to the original brand while being bolder and more modern.

While modernising the logo, we would like to retain the essence of our current brand but in a newly developed style. Our core identity has traditionally utilised block colours, which vary in colour depending on the magazine's front cover. Keeping an element of this would be nice. We have played around with a new way of using the block colour but we are seeking some more creativity to improve it. (see examples below).

Specific Requirements:

Main Logo + Variations:

Develop a fully evolved logo that encapsulates the spirit of a modern publication.
Create variations suitable for different applications while retaining the core brand identity.

Colour Kit:

Design a consistent and visually appealing colour palette that reflects the brand's core values and resonates with the target audience.
The colour scheme should reflect themes of trust, modernity, and local community support.

Bold colours over pastels.

Brand Style:


As we currently lack consistency across all marketing materials, we need some reference to shapes or elements to be used across all assets (see brief attachment for examples).


Previous attempts to evolve the current logo and brand inhouse have fallen short due to us being too close to the brand. A fresh insight and approach is what we need. I have shared attempts to improve the current long block colour and logo.
