Logo design for Phoenix Gym Norwich LTD

Hi there

Here is a bit of info for you to help design our logo.

The gym already has a strong male dominant body builder type market. We want to create a brand that keeps the “no nonsense” attitude to training rather than posing in a gym to meet a boyfriend or girlfriend but we also want to appeal more to “normal” and female

members who may not have a huge exercise back ground but want to get fit in a friendly, safe and clean atmosphere.

The phoenix obviously signifies “a rising from the ashes of it’s predecessor”. This is appropriate for 2 reasons. Firstly because the last 2 owners have run the business into the ground of which we will be re building and restoring to a new glory (this message means a lot to the existing and previous members which we want to get back) and secondly

individual members can possibly relate to the significance of the metamorphosis because they are over weight, out of shape, not very confident about their self image and it’s likely

these things influence their daily lives heavily. So these people want to make a huge lifestyle change and become a better version of themselves “rising from the ashes” as it were.

We want the logo and brand to be modern and “funky”, fun but with a serious no nonsense intent in a supportive environment where they are not just treated like a number.

Colour wise we are looking at red, white and blue. So maybe the bird design in red with the main writing of Phoenix Gym in blue. But have a play and we can see how they look. Only using the 2 colours obviously works well for printing purposes. We would like the phoenix to look as if it is soaring and looking upwards.

Due to the example shape of the bird the writing would ideally go to the bottom right of the bird although this is open for you to play with, you may come up with something better based on the designs you do.

So in a nutshell the message we want to get across is: professional, female friendly also,

no nonsense, results based training, friendly or community, funky and fun but with a serious intent.

If you could draw up 3 or 4 examples that we can pick from and then tweak the favourite one to suit our goals.
