Information for the business: Mandatories is a subscription based e-commerce service that delivers men their essentials on a monthly, quarterly or biannual basis. Users customise their own Mandatories box which can include underwear, socks, shaving supplies, toiletries and more. Brands on offer will range from value to premium. subscriptions can be amended, Mandatories also sell their own brand which is a mid price label that celebrates the function and form of these items over fashion.

Mandatories is subscription-based e-commerce website that allows men to create bundles of their favourite essentials (underwear, socks, razors, toiletries and condoms) that can be delivered monthly, quarterly biannually. Users can choose from products ranging from value to premium brands and may alter their subscription at any time. Once a loyal user base is established, we will create a dedicated Mandatories label, a lifestyle brand targeted at the practical, successful man who recognises that the point of these products is function over fashion. The ‘anti-brand’ will challenge them to the think about their current consumption habits. Why do they wear underwear with an old mans name on it? Do they really think that certain types of deodorant make them more attractive to women? Do they not find this marketing patronising?
Mandatories will position itself as the service that represents the essence of manhood itself. Bar Mitzah boys, first time shavers and boys leaving for home for college will be given Mandatories subscriptions as a right of passage.
