Description
Experience Level: Expert
Santa Clara, CA, January 8, 2017. A Mountain View startup technology company is about to emerge from operating in deep stealth mode.
The technology underlying the company’s effort arises out of Apple‘s introduction of TouchID functionality to its iOS in 2013, which proved to be a catalyst for a vast deployment of fingerprint sensors in smartphones.
The company has developed patented technology built on a radically novel idea: a neuromechanical fingerprint. This new biometric identification technology utilizes live signals from an individual's own neurophysiology (brain) using a handheld device. These signals can be sensed by hardware already present in smart phones: accelerometers and gyroscopes, thus authenticating the user’s ID.
HOW DOES IT WORK? First, when you hold your smart phone, your hand will vibrate as a result of neuro signals radiating from your brain. This vibration creates a unique neuro signature and cannot be seen by the naked eye. This would be like a neurological fingerprint, a neuroprint. The app and algorithm calibrate and recognize your unique vibrations on your device in a fully encrypted manner. No file of your unique neuroprint remains on your smartphone, no databases of your neuroprints are brought into the cloud either. Second, the next time you hold your smartphone in your hand, the phone will recognize you, that is recognize your neuroprint as you, and only you, resulting from the complex algorithm.
This technology allows one to interact with web-based delivery of services where frictionless (no need to do anything), absolute (not hackable, no false positives) and safe (privacy-protecting) authentication/signatures are necessary.
The company is well funded and not seeking funding at this time, rather it is seeking an introduction to a Chinese smartphone company that can expose their MINIMALLY VIABLE PRODUCT to its customer base for further validation.
XIAOMI would be a good prospect, or HUAWEI, OPPO, GEONEE or VIVO.
