Description
If you think you can help, I am able to provide more information*. Work type, budget, currency would then follow.
Further information added Tuesday 22nd January 2019.
Edited Thursday 24th January 2019
* Here's what I know. Please keep this confidential to safeguard her privacy.
Her first name is Kara (Karah?) spelt with a "K". She was given this name at birth - it isn't a shortened form. She is from Queensland in Australia, close to the coast, (of Scottish origin, originally).
I met her travelling alone on New Year's Eve on an EasyJet flight from Innsbruck to Gatwick. flight (EZY 8295, 18:50h, seat 15E, but this information probably can't help**). She had been on holiday, in Budapest then Austria, with her family who had flown from Australia to meet her.
She attended a private [girls' ?] Catholic school, then took a degree in English and History and has a teaching qualification .
She came to London around five years ago where she has lived/worked initially as a teacher (I think in the private/independent sector) as is therefore registered with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
She now writes for a living, and, a little surprisingly, reads the Daily Mail. Her explanation was drowned out by noise.
Among her interests are Pre-Raphaelite art and watching rugby.
She is quite tall (1.65m -1.75m, 5'6" - 5'10") and I estimate her age as being in the range late twenties to mid thirties, though to be on the safe side I searched mid twenties to late thirties.
She wanted to leave Australia completely and is committed to England where she has permanent residence status, and is applying for British citizenship.
Except for a special mesmerising episode during the descent to Gatwick, we spent the entire flight absorbed in conversation, right until passengers started leaving their seats, which ended abruptly when we became separated in the rush to disembark, not leaving us the chance to exchange all the details necessary to stay in touch. Sadly we were both in a hurry to catch trains, and I didn't manage to find her again before I caught mine. I have been kicking myself since.
This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
If anyone is able to locate her; but is uneasy about my motivation, I am quite happy for her contact details to be withheld from me, but for her to be told that I am trying to find her and, if she agrees. to contact me via you, or directly. The one proviso would be to let her know that I suspect I might have caused a misunderstanding at the very end of the flight, most likely by not saying or doing something she was anticipating rather than the converse, simply because of the rush.
If I'm correct , then I would happily apologise/explain/clarify. There is also one point on which I would dearly love clarification from her.
Given the above, I am sure that she would be happy to hear from me, and for us to make contact again. If I'm wrong, I'd like to be told, and why.
Finally, please note that I have not mentioned a budget, nor experience level because I'm not sure about these and hope we could discuss them.
**Before coming to PPH I personally visited EasyJet, and asked them to forward to Kara a letter which was in a stamped envelope. All they had to do was write her address on it and post it, without revealing to me anything at all about her. They wouldn't do even this because of the new GDPR restrictions. I hadn't realised how strict they are until I returned home and researched GDPR. It's a shame because it is the one concrete piece of information which could be used to locate her, and not that long ago it would have been all I needed to do.
I assumed that just about everyone is on Facebook but I haven't been able to find her there, despite checking hundreds of Karas . However, all the advanced devices Google says you can use for searching didn't work for me. For example, although I specified Karas in London, Karas from all over the world came up. I am hoping someone with more expertise than I would have more success. I wouldn't assume that, because I can't find her there, she isn't there.
I've also had similar results with Linkedin and Internations, haven't tried Instagram, or Twitter, etc. though I've been told that someone with a large following can find a lost dog within two hours.
Update 2019 Feb 2nd Saturday
Many teachers keep a low profile on social media to avoid unwarranted abusive comments from pupils and parents.
I have recently visited the Daily Mail office in London, where I experienced the changes resulting from both GDPR and the Charlie Hebdo terrorist attack in Paris, i.e. I wasn't permitted beyond the secure reception area without having an appointment, but was advised that I might be able to do this by telephone, which I will attempt next week.

I’m assuming you have tried the usual facebook etc - however you may have overlooked the obvious - just go the daily mal - they will go for a story like this and if she reads it she will see it!!
Simon L.03 Feb 2019Thanks for this suggestion Emma - all are welcome. I visited the Daily Mail last week to be confronted with initial scepticism, post-Charlie Hebdo tight security as well as GDPR. However, the response gradually softened once I had told my tale, but they could still only give me a phone number to call next week. Fingers still crossed.
Simon -
And another question, in case the previous gets blocked, where is this person supposedly located, as that would be a start.
Simon L.13 Jan 2019The person I'm trying to find lives and works in London.
My challenge is to find someone who is going to be successful if I accept their offer, with something like a "no win, no fee" arrangement, or a basic fee for making the attempt, supplemented if successful.
Ideally,Sue A.13 Jan 2019Have you tried searching "Investigator" in the drop down browse menu? Maybe you could invite people to bid on your work/discuss with them in more detail to see if it is feasible.

If you want a good researcher/snoop/tracker downer it might help if this project was not marked as high value? Such jobs use 3 credits to apply and not 1 and it does not appear high value to me, rather you need one hell of a good researcher.
Simon L.13 Jan 2019Hello Sue. Thanks for this advice. On the second point I strongly agree that a need one hell of a good researcher, one much better than I am, for whom this would be fairly straightforward. As to credits and value, I'm grateful for your suggestion - can you tell me where I can find guidance on these - I wasn't sure what to select ? This is why I put in the proposal that I would deal with these matters later.
However, I'm beginning to think that the proposal is fixed from the start.
I wasn't sure if it was the sort of job any of your freelancers deal with, and was just putting out feelers before making a formal proposal.
Your first point is also very welcome. It was only because I had to complete the box that I put 3 credits/£130Sue A.13 Jan 2019A confusion exercise as a licence to print money I'm afraid and, as a newbie myself of only a few weeks, this is all becoming very apparent. You can also invite people who might be able to do this job for you, and by sending personal invitations no credits are used. That said if you can edit to only 1 credit (i.e., not High Value) you may get more response. Or try searching "Investigator" in the drop down menu under "Browse".
