Employment lawyer needed specializing in freelancers

I worked for a big make-over studio place in Birmingham who on the day before we were due to get paid decided to tell us at the end of the day they were going into administration. This meant for the last month and a half we haven't been paid. The employed people were paid early and so as a result it hasn't hit them so hard. There are a number of us who have decided to group together and look for an lawyer to take then to court.
We have found out after looking at our contracts that we have in fact been hired by and agency not the firm who has gone into administration and it clearly states that they are responsible for paying us. I have contacted the agency a few times with no response until today when i received an email after i stated after 7 working days of not receiving our money i shall be taking legal action.The response was from the directors of the company who stated the email has been passed onto their lawyers. One lawyer looked at our case and agreed we defiantly do have a case, but his fees were ridiculous! There are 28 of us, who are wishing to proceed with this action. It is a clear cut case but we need legla representation who wont take an ridiculous amount of us! It's Christmas and we've now had no money for 2 months! :(
Please can somebody give me competitive quotes to take us on.
the amount we are owed between the 28 of us is over £40,000 and we know the agency has in the bank over 1.9 million.
