My main competitor is getting an unfair advantage as they getting the top result on google for all of the key searches with images and site links being pulled out. I am unable to get my ad served first even though I am bidding extremely high. It seems like adwords just likes them more. I need this fixed.

If the bid price is definately higher than the competitor's then the issue is the ad relevance and I suggest you look at the landing page and things such as its pagespeed insights rating and how relevant its headings, title and content is to the text/description used in the ad.
