Description
Experience Level: Expert
I am about to launch a brand new website aimed at men and women here in the UK of 65 years and over who want to age as well as possible, and make the very most of their senior years.
The website has an Articles section with many pieces written by me on a whole range of subjects - from the importance of aerobic exercise to finding love and romance in later life. More articles will be written as the website evolves.
It also has a Let's Listen section, where I conduct audio interviews (pre-recorded) with people who I believe are inspirational to the concept of healthy ageing. I have, so far, conducted three interviews at this pre-launch phase, and intend to interview more people for the site as it evolves - aiming to attract high profile seniors such as well-know TV personalities who are living proof of ageing well.
And it has a Let's Talk section where vistitors are encourgaed to register in order to start brand new conversations on topics of their choice that relate to the subject of ageing, or they may wish to comment on someone else's subject, or comment on one of the articles. As a guide, think how potent the Mumsnet forum has become to attract and keep visitors to the site on a regular basis.
The site will be supported by a Facebook page and Youtube - and, unashamedly, I - as the creator of the site - will be pretty visible on it- to help give some personality to it and give it a USP.
So, beyond making the content on the site as fresh and SEO-friendly as possible, I believe that certain social media platforms will be key to help drive traffic and encourage visitors to register - however, I am no social media expert - hence this brief!
What I do know is that amongst my core demographic, Facebook is likely to be the most preferred social media platform (correct me if I am wrong!).
So my need is for someone who fully understands how to reach out to a 65 years plus market on such platforms as Facebook; to get them intrigued and motivated enough to click on to the site in the first place and then register.
The site is self-funded, and my budgets are limited - however my aim is to monetise it when I get enough traction to attract advertisers and affiliates - and potentially have an on-site shop selling products and services relating to healthy ageing. When it starts to pay, I will be more than happy to invest more in the marketing with you.
