Description
Experience Level: Expert
Background
This project aims to use social media platforms - Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, potentially TikTok, to recruit participants for two parallel surveys. These surveys are designed to gather insights from health professionals and the general public on the use of digital technology in facilitating communication between health professionals and individuals living with obesity and mental health issues. The research is inclusive, encouraging participation from a broad audience regardless of personal health status, to understand diverse perspectives on digitally-supported holistic healthcare.
Objectives
1. Maximise Engagement and Participation: Use snowballing technique across various social media channels to attract wide range of participants for both surveys.
2. Generate Big Data: Aim for a substantial volume of responses to ensure the data's robustness, aiding in the comprehensive analysis of views on digital healthcare solutions.
Target Audience in Northern Ireland
- Health Professionals Survey
- General Public Survey: The wider community, interested in healthcare, technology, and the intersection of physical and mental health
Recruitment Strategy
1. Social Media Campaigns: Create and execute targeted campaigns across social platforms using personalised researcher profiles, using existing contextual posts related to healthcare, technology, innovation, and research.
2. Content Variation: Maintain audience interest and encourage sharing.
3. Direct Outreach: Use approved recruitment email to contact health professionals in Northern Ireland directly and distribute info through organisations, charities, and community groups aligned with the research's goals.
Responsibilities
-Content Development: Continue to create and refine engaging content and graphics on Canva, following the established thematic approach to enhance the researcher profile's visibility and impact.
- Social Media Management: Handle all aspects of social media campaign management, including scheduling posts, engaging with followers, and analysing performance to optimise strategies.
- Email Outreach: Manage the recruitment email campaign, ensuring it reaches a broad audience of health professionals and interested organisations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in social media management and digital marketing, preferably in a healthcare or research context.
- Excellent communication and graphic design skills, with proficiency in Canva.
- Ability to work independently, embodying the researcher's voice and maintaining the integrity of the research project.
- Familiarity with ethical guidelines in research, particularly in the recruitment and data collection processes.
Expected Outcomes
- A substantial and diverse dataset from both targeted surveys, providing valuable insights into the use and perception of digital technology in healthcare communication.
- Increased awareness and discussion around the topics of obesity, mental health, and digital healthcare solutions among the general public and healthcare professionals.
- Enhanced visibility and credibility of the researcher's profile in the domains of healthcare, innovation, and research.
This project offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical research while engaging with a broad audience on meaningful health and technology issues. The right candidate will play a crucial role in advancing our understanding of digital healthcare solutions' impact and potential.
