Develop CMS Database Website


The Aim is to develop a website that offers businesses the chance to promote themselves and there Savings through our site. The online users should be able to search our database by using our search engine.

We want the structure of our website to be similar to ‘yell.com’ with the search engine Linked up to our database. We will need to have our database connected to a content management system (CMS), for us able to add and grow business listings to our website.


The main feature of this website is the search engine, which will have 2 input text fields
• what you’re looking i.e. plumber, accountant, etc
• What location i.e. London, postcode, etc

The Search feature will also consist of two search filter options
• Recent history - this will consist of the recent business or searches made. (This should be expandable; the user should be able to choose whether or not they want to view this
• Refine Search - this will give the user the opportunity to narrow down their search. (This should be expandable; the user should be able to choose whether or not they want to view this)

The search results will be divided into two sets of Business listings:
1. Registered Businesses
- This is for business's that have paid a subscription, these listings should appear above all the non subscribed listings and will have a more in-depth content in the search results. Users should also be able to click through to the Business’s Profile page within our site, where the owner of the business should be able to update there content. This would also have a ratings system and a comments section. Owners of the listing should also have full control on what shows up in the results page under there business listings (pic, contact info, description and keywords).

2. Regular (non registered businesses) listings
- This is for business we have entered into our database, these should always appear lower than the registered listing in the search results page and it will have very basic content (name, address, telephone) along with a button ‘Register your business’ linking to the sign up page. The system will need to automatically update the businesses that register with us.


We will also need to have log in and sign up service along with a secure way to take payment. (IT WILL BE PAYPAL)


We would also like to integrate Google map into the site. For instance in the search results page the map will match the results listing, by pinpointing the businesses in that area. I also want our logo icon to appear in the map pinpointing the results and to also have a hover or click for menu.


There will also be a popular keywords or tags section based in the footer of the site that contains links of popular keyword searches. Clicking any of the links in this section will direct the user to a locations page were they can match there desired keyword within the location they require. The last link in this section will be “more popular search” which will direct the user to our A-Z of Keyword searches (See A-Z and locations Page on yell.com for example). We would need to be able to add keywords and tags that will work with the search engine.


There will need to be a subscribe or join or mailing list feature, which will only require the users email data to be stored in our database


Social media needs to be integrated into the website (i.e. +1 Google, like Facebook, tweet twitter. The comment section will also require the user to login to their social media accounts to be able to leave a comment or review.


The site needs to be search engine friendly. Online search engines should also capture business pages on our site. (i.e. Google, Ask, etc)



To summaries the website will consist of the following pages and features:

• Index / home page
- This page will also consist of latest registered business, which should automatically be updated as the user register.
- There will also be a map that should detect the users current location and present all the registered businesses in there location.
- We are going to have personal advertisements of registered users and ideally we will require it to work using cookies to present the user with relevant adverts. We should also have full control of how many advertisements we present and keep it easy to update and remove.

• Search Results page
- The result will be divided into two sections, registered and non-registered businesses.
- The result will be sorted via a drop down menu (i.e. a-z, popularity) and the user should also choose the number of result that appear on the page (20, 40, 60, 80, 100)
- The map will work in accordance to the search results, pinpointing the registered businesses that appear on the page in the map

• Business profile page
- This page is what registered businesses pay for, so it needs to be fully customizable with ease by the user.
- A gallery of photos is required and should be connected to some sort of lightbox plug-in
- Social media links for users to like or tweet the business or what they have to offer.
- Review section will list from the most recent to the oldest comments; there will also be a rating of the business.
- To write a review, the user has to login to one of there social media account to post.
- Map of this businesses location

• About us, Why join T&C’s, and Privacy policy pages
- These pages will be similar to one another and the content text will be sectioned in expandable boxes

• Login page

• Sign up page
- The form will be divided into 4 sections.
1. Personal info
2. Business info
3. Payment (Paypal payment system)
4. Activate accountant. (User should receive an email to activate accountant once payment is taken)

• Contact page
- Contact form required (name, email, enquiry)
- Map pinpointing our location

• a-z keywords and locations pages
- These 2 pages will be similar to each other

• Additional pages
- There maybe some minor pages that will be needed to inform the user when they post a comment, that is have been sent.


THAT IS THE BASIC OUTLINE OF THE SITE REQUIRMENTS.



There is no designing required as I have designed the site in Photoshop and I will make any amendment if required.

i need honest and cost effective solutions to get this CMS website up and running to try and keep inline with the budget. There might be a little more stretch to the budget but it is something i will have to confirm with the client

I will also like to see samples of work of a similar nature along with your outlined timeframe.

This project is available to start as soon as bidding has ended, providing the price being right and matched with the qualified bidder
