Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: 1 - 2 weeks
Description of every page: Please do read this fully before getting touch. Thanks!
We need a fully functional site to support humanitarian workers in South Sudan, with similar homepage design feel to:
http://www.alexcornell.com/ (if url missing, search alex cornell photographer...)
There will be 8 boxes on homepage which you hover over and titles of the categories are emboldened. These link to:
- NEWS (latest on site, twitter feed and a sign up form)
- AUDIO: This opens a list of folders (boxes like on the homepage). Inside each folder there is a list of audio files with descriptions you can click and stream. There is also a speakpipe type plugin that allows people to leave an audio message to admin.
- LANGUAGE: This opens a list of boxes (looking similar to the homepage) with language names on. Inside each there is a list of words in the language together with an audio file of the word being said. You can download the audio files and a pdf of the words.
- THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW: This opens a clickable map of South Sudan which you can click on each state (e.g. using the Interactive World plugin or similar). When you click on a state, a document is opened below - text inside the page - which can be read about that state.
- REPORTS: This opens a clickable map of South Sudan which you can click on each state (e.g. using the Interactive World plugin or similar). When you click on a state, relevant reports are displayed below that are tagged with that state.

- PHOTOS: people can uploads their own photos which are displayed with others in a good looking gallery
- QUESTION OF THE WEEK: This area contains questions and answers just in list form, with an ' ask a question box' to submit a new question at the top.
That's the quick summary. We are looking for a very clean, fresh and good design. It's a lot to get in but it will be a great site for a good purpose. Although this is for humanitarian sector we need it to be cool and fresh and attractive, and simple to use. This is very important.
Thanks for your help! I am in london and meeting up as part of this is welcome, but not necessary.
