Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Hello,
I am a novice site maker. I have used FrontPage in the past to achieve acceptable results. An example would be www.willowsofeconomy.com Not great by professional standards but it worked for me.
I have recently purchased WebExpression 3 and am completely lost. I have a new site that I am interested in creating but do not have enough of the idea or content worked out yet. In short, I want a template to learn and play with, filling in content and style as I go. I prefer to do the style and content myself even though I am not a professional.
What I would like is for you to construct a very crude but operable shell. I would desire the following:
A site navigation header that contains global links to the various sections of the site. The site header should be changeable so that all pages update.
I anticipate changing this header often, seasonal pictures, special offers, etc.
I have thought about included pages from FrontPage but cant find them in Expression. I have thought about SSI, but would like to see what I am doing locally, because I anticipate building content for a long time and hosting when done. Frames would easily accomplish this, but I was trying not to use frames. I could use a DWT, but they cant be nested and I want to be able to have side navigation bars in another template or master page. I have thought of nested master pages, but even though I understand the concept, I need WYSIWYG, I am not a coder. All of that info was just trying to tell you what I have thought through.
The content sections should include a side navigation menu for multiple pages within that area. The left menu should change based on the top navigation selected. This is a simple enough example - clean design. Should be easy to start working with. http://www.usability.com.au/resources/menus-links.cfm
I would be interested in knowing what approach you would take:
Frames?
Dynamic Web Templates?
Nested Master Pages
Server Side Includes?
Design time included pages?
Finally, I would need a price for putting together such a crude template. You may already have a website that you can use for this purpose. I do not mind reworking style. This needs to be inexpensive.
Thank you.
