Description
Experience Level: Expert
Every year, it's estimated thousands of applicants for legal training contracts and vacation schemes are required to do verbal reasoning tests as part of the recruitment process.
These tests are well respected by the industry.
However, candidates receive little preparation for these tests, despite the fact they are well prepared for their legal degrees, GDL and LPC.
The aim of this project is to design an attractive website with a facility to practice short verbal reasoning tests of the style commonly used. Please note that this job does not require design of questions. The questions will be writen externally. There needs to be two parts to this website. One an admin part where questions can be uploaded, and user details can be accessed. The user side is where the candidate can take a timed test, each test being compiled at random from a huge bank of questions.
The objective is to produce this website within the course of two weeks in the region of £300 (but very flexible according to the quality of the applicant). The website will need to have a mechanism where candidates can register, login to take a test generated at random (but such that no questions are reduplicated for the same candidate), practice a test, be shown the results, and can review his or her previous results. Precise instructions for each page of the websites will be given.
The business model is this: people will need to pay an one-off amount to create an account allowing unlimited access for a time period. Customers should have the option of simply paying by debit card, although a PayPal facility should be available.
Precise wording of all the website will be given. The actual presentation of the website otherwise must be accurately completed according to specification. According to the views of the programmer, it is likely that the website will need to have access to a large databank of questions, where precise information about the performance of each candidate for each question will need to be stored for producing accurate normative data.
The chosen programmer will need to be hard working, an experienced and enthusiastic programmer, and be able to produce innovative programming solutions fast. The candidate should also be able to advise on any compatibility issues of the browser of the user of the tests; in that it should be able to interact with the website on either a Mac or a PC. However, I'd prefer to be able to talk with the successful candidate by phone.
