Description
Experience Level: Expert
I’m seeking a senior WordPress developer to build a multi-vendor furniture marketplace with a bespoke purchase workflow.
The platform will use WordPress (likely WooCommerce as a base) with custom plugin development to implement:
• A timed item-hold system triggered at checkout (e.g., 5-minute reservation window)
• Temporary stock locking across multiple sellers
• Display of seller bank details and item-specific payment references
• Automated SMS/email notifications to sellers when items are placed on hold
• Seller-side payment confirmation (via dashboard and optionally SMS reply)
• Automatic relisting of items if confirmation is not received within defined time windows
• Admin override tools for disputes and verification
• Mobile-first UX
• Secure storage of seller bank details
• Postcode-based search and filtering
• Multi-vendor architecture (vendors manage their own inventory)
This will require:
• Custom WordPress plugin development
• Integration with SMS/email APIs
• Real-time inventory locking logic
• Vendor dashboards
• Possibly AI image moderation for uploads
• Clean, scalable database design
Please include examples of similar custom WooCommerce or marketplace projects and your approach to implementing stock reservation and seller-confirmation flows.
