Description
I am looking for a genuinely talented website designer with a strong visual eye and a proper understanding of branding, typography, layout, pacing, and digital storytelling.
This is for the website of Deniz Kuzgunu — a multidisciplinary platform spanning design, strategy, communications, cultural infrastructure, mapping projects, events, and creative ventures.
The website will be built on WordPress.
The structure, bilingual copy (Turkish and English), brand direction, colour palettes, typography references, logos, and core content are already prepared. I will also provide visual references, mood direction, and strategic guidance throughout the process.
What I need is somebody who can take all of that and turn it into an elegant, intelligent, beautifully designed digital experience.
I am specifically looking for:
• A designer with genuine creative instinct
• Somebody who understands hierarchy, whitespace, rhythm, typography, and restraint
• Somebody capable of thinking beyond templates
• Somebody who understands how premium brands feel online
• Somebody collaborative, sharp, and detail-oriented
• Somebody who can contribute ideas rather than simply execute instructions mechanically
What I am NOT looking for:
• AI-generated design spam
• Generic Elementor template flipping
• Fake “agency” accounts outsourcing the work elsewhere
• Designers who rely entirely on Midjourney, ChatGPT prompts, or auto-generated layouts and call it “creative direction”
I work with AI myself every day. I can immediately recognise AI-generated thinking and recycled layouts. This project requires human judgement, taste, intuition, and proper design intelligence.
The website itself is content-rich yet visually refined. Think editorial sophistication rather than corporate clutter.
The right person may also continue onto a second website project immediately afterwards.
Requirements:
• Strong portfolio with real websites
• Strong typography and layout sensibility
• Experience designing premium, editorial, cultural, luxury, strategy, or design-led brands
• WordPress experience essential
• Elementor Pro experience preferred
• Comfortable working with bilingual content (Turkish/English)
• Strong communication and collaborative attitude

At the defined budget of £88 against the requested scope, I highly doubt you will capture the interest of seasoned and qualified developers such as you request. The scope is too wide to capture the imagination of the quality of designer you want at the price.
You will only attract a lot of generic quotes and redundant clarification questions. Just my thoughts....

Could you share more about the target audience and how you want them to feel when interacting with the site?
Are there specific websites or references that closely match the level of editorial sophistication you envision?
How much creative freedom will I have in refining layout, hierarchy, and user flow beyond the provided structure?
Will you need custom interactions/animations, or should the focus remain on minimal, refined presentation?
How do you prefer handling the bilingual structure, fully mirrored pages or a more integrated language-switching experience?
What is your expected timeline for the first design concepts and final delivery?
Will I be collaborating directly with you throughout, or is there a wider team involved in feedback and approvals? -

Hi Ayca,
I’d love to understand a few things in more detail:
1. Are there any references (websites, publications, studios, magazines, archives, institutions, etc.) that capture the emotional or visual rhythm you’re aiming for?
2. Are you expecting Elementor mainly as a structural framework behind a highly customised front-end?
3. For the first phase, approximately how extensive is the platform?
For example: Core pages only, Journal/editorial system, Archive structure or Event pages etc.?
Looking forward.
Best Regards. -

- Since the platform spans multiple disciplines, how do you envision users understanding the relationship between these areas?
- Would you prefer the design process to begin with complete homepage art direction first, or with a broader system covering grids, typography behavior, spacing logic, and reusable modules?Ayca A.YesterdayThanks for the questions. The strategic architecture, ecosystem logic, typography direction, modular structure, and overall positioning framework are already fully developed and thought through on our side.
At this stage, the requirement is execution rather than strategic interpretation. The role here is primarily to translate an existing vision into a clean, well-built digital experience with strong visual sensitivity and disciplined implementation.
The broader system, relationships between disciplines, information hierarchy, and platform logic have already been defined internally, so there is no need to rework or reframe the conceptual layer. The focus should remain on high-quality design execution, layout refinement, responsiveness, and presentation.
