Description
This is not a new website build. Most of the design direction, templates and several pages already exist. The website is currently being developed at https://dev.so31sailmakers.com/ and, once complete, it will replace https://so31sailmakers.com/.
The website is built using WordPress, Blocksy and Gutenberg. Experience with these is essential.
I also have multiple design mock-ups, layout examples and reference material that will be provided. There are a number of design elements and content blocks that I am already happy with and I expect these to be adopted and used consistently throughout the remaining pages. This is not a redesign; the objective is to extend and refine the existing website while maintaining a consistent look and feel.
This project requires more than simply building pages. You will need to understand the sailmaking and marine industry so the website structure, content and imagery make sense to prospective customers. Generic or repetitive AI-generated content will not be suitable.
Responsibilities
Complete the remaining pages using the existing templates, Blocksy and Gutenberg.
Improve page layouts while maintaining the established design language.
Review, rewrite and expand content so it is engaging, accurate and SEO-friendly.
Research the subject matter where necessary so pages are technically accurate and useful.
Source and replace images where existing ones are unsuitable, using supplied assets where appropriate.
Create new content blocks that fit seamlessly with the current design.
Ensure the site is fully responsive and optimise images and assets for performance.
Provide regular progress updates.

About SO31
What I'm Looking For
Strong WordPress, Blocksy and Gutenberg experience.
Excellent design and layout skills with a good eye for consistency.
Ability to write and improve website copy.
Experience sourcing high-quality royalty-free images.
Good SEO knowledge.
Experience building responsive websites.
Ability to work independently and take ownership of the project.
I want someone who will understand why a customer is visiting each page and produce content that reflects the products and services being offered, rather than simply filling templates with text. You should be comfortable researching the industry so the content and imagery are logical, accurate and inspire confidence.
Before You Apply
Please review the development website before submitting your proposal.
To show you've read the brief, begin your proposal with "SO31 Project" and include:
Links to 2–3 WordPress websites you've completed where you were responsible for both design and content implementation.
A brief explanation of how you would familiarise yourself with the sailmaking and marine industry before writing or updating the content.
Confirmation that you're experienced with Blocksy and Gutenberg.
Confirmation that you're happy working within an existing design system rather than redesigning the website.
Generic or AI-generated proposals that don't address the points above may not be considered.

Which remaining pages are your highest priority so I can plan the work in the most effective order?

SO31 Project
John,
I've reviewed your requirements and have a few questions to ensure we fully understand the remaining scope:
1. Approximately how much of the website would you say is complete (e.g., 70%, 80%, 90%)?
2. Will you be providing the final page list and content priorities for the pages marked "type to be confirmed,"?
3. Do you already have brand-approved photography and imagery available, or should we source additional royalty-free marine/sailing images where needed?
4. Is there an SEO strategy or keyword list you'd like us to follow, or should we perform keyword research and optimize each page accordingly?
5. Will we receive access to the staging site's WordPress admin along with any premium Blocksy or plugin licenses currently in use?
Considering the work involves:
Reviewing and refining approximately 15–16 pages
Blocksy + Gutenberg development
Copywriting and content enhancement
Industry research
Image sourcing
SEO optimization
Responsive refinement
QA and launch support
£200 is low for the scope described. Before we prepare a detailed proposal, could you let us know what budget you've allocated for this project?
Looking forward to your response.
