WordPress Designer/Developer Premium Family Travel Publication

We are launching Far & Family, a premium family travel website focused on adventurous and luxury travel for parents travelling with children.
The site will feature first-hand destination guides, hotel reviews, ready-made itineraries, activity recommendations, practical advice and contributor-written content from families who have genuinely visited the destinations.
Our ambition is for Far & Family to feel like an established, high-quality travel publication from launch — closer to a premium travel magazine than a traditional family blog.
The Project
We are looking for an experienced WordPress designer/developer who can take the project from concept through to a fully functioning live website.
Ideally, we would work with one person who can handle both visual design and WordPress implementation.
The site should be:
• Beautiful, editorial and highly visual
• Fast and mobile-friendly
• Easy for a non-technical editor to manage
• Structured well for SEO
• Built using a sensible, maintainable WordPress setup
• Flexible enough to support a large and growing content library
We do not want a heavily bespoke system that requires a developer every time we make a change.

Hotels, destinations, itineraries and contributors should use structured WordPress fields rather than requiring us to manually design every page.
For example, publishing a hotel review should feel like completing a well-designed form, with WordPress automatically producing the correct layout.
Each article should also be attributable to an individual contributor.
Initially our editorial team will upload and approve all content, although future contributor submissions/accounts may be added.
SEO, Performance & Handover
The site should follow good technical SEO and performance practices.
We want to be highly self-sufficient after launch.
The successful freelancer should keep the backend simple, avoid unnecessary plugins, use well-supported technology, document the setup and provide basic training on adding and editing content.
We must retain full administrator access and ownership of all accounts and licences.
