Howdy Partners
Mitchy here - I'm a web designer & developer in NZ - but have unfortunately become unwell and require chemotherapy. So I need some help to finish some projects I've got coming up in the pipeline.
Project Background
-----------------
My client wants a custom built wordpress site where the look n feel (PSD/CSS3) and behaviour (javascript) is based on a website they like, namely: http://www.tivix.com
Instead of providing all the copy upfront, they want the ability to create & change pages themselves at a later date. In other words, they want to use Wordpress as a CMS with a custom developed theme made for them.
Accordingly, the I've split the programme of work to create this theme into 3 distinct phases: [1] PSD screenshots, [2] converting the PSD into a HTML5/CSS3 & jQuery assets and [3] converting the HTML template into a Wordpress theme.
This job relates to phase 1, the PSD work. Once the client approves the PSDs, I'll either do the work myself or potentially post a follow up job for the PSD to HTML/CSS work. Let's get the PSDs nailed before worrying about phase 2 ;-)
HIGH LEVEL PSD REQUIREMENTS:
Page Templates
-------------
Because the client specifically wants a Wordpress theme to compliment a fairly standard 'brochure site' sitemap (e.g. Home, Services, Work, Portfolio, About Us, Contact) I thought it would be pertinent to copy the sitemap & 'loosely' copy the structure of a popular Wordpress Theme. In our case http://theme-fusion.com/avada
* Home
* About Us
* Portfolio
* Services
* Pricing Options
* Meet the team
* Side Navigation - left
* Side Navigation - right
* Contact
* Full Page
* 404 Error
* Portfolio - 1 column
* Portfolio - 2 column
* Portfolio - 3 column
* Portfolio - 4 column
* Single Project Wide
* Single Project Half
* Blog Full Width
* Blog Large Image
* Blog Medium Image
* Blog Single Post
* Shortcode - Elements
* Shortcode - Icons .... I'll provide you with these in PSD format
* Shortcode - Pricing Tables
* Shortcode - Sliders
* Shortcode - Typography
* Shortcode - Media
By 'loosely copy the structure' I mean check out the pages listed above for the type of sections and elements to include, but then play around with the layout and order of them (so it's not an exact copy)
Look n Feel
----------
Flattr design just like http://www.tivix.com
Use your inventiveness.
Responsive Layouts
-----------------
For each of the pages listed above, I would like 4 different views to account for different devices, namely: Full Screen, Laptop, Tablet & Mobile. Please use standardised widths (& heights) so that I can use css media queries.
OPTIONAL - Colours
------------------
(or Colors for my American friends ;)
If it's not going to cost anymore & if it's not too much trouble, it would be great to get a few of the key pages (or perhaps just the homepage) with a few different variations of the feature colour, eg.
* Green
* Blue
* Purple
* Red
* Maroon
* Pink
* Yellow
If this is too much trouble, no problem. I will use LESS (instead of CSS) to dynamically set these variables in the stylesheet which is a lot easier than replicating lots of PSDs...
Other
-----
- Retina display
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Who I'm Looking For:
------------------
The right candidate must [1] first and foremost have a great flair for design, and [2] a high degree of self initiative and proactive ideas.
It is a requirement that the candidate comes to me with ideas that I can evaluate rather than relying on me for detailed instructions.
There will be no water-tight requirements provided for this job; nor any wireframes or copy provided (you may use 'lorem ipsum...' where necessary) - just a portfolio of pieces of inspiration for the look 'n' feel and the content.
This is how I interact with my clients who have a broad idea and some ideas for their site, but really rely on me to present them with options in order to nail down the specifics. I'd expect the candidate to mirror that same level of service. The whole reason for employing someone to do my job is that I'm not up for it physically (by the time I've done the wireframes I might as well finish the job. You understand right?) ... ;-)
Accordingly I want to be presented with ideas for approval/feedback based on my inputs; rather than relied on for detailed instructions. Naturally we'll have a lot of back and forth so ask as many questions as you like and lets get some good comms going on.
In summary, it's not just a design job, it's a creative (ie. thinking) job! ;-)
How I will award the job
--------------------
Action: If you'd like to bid for the job could I please kindly request that you provide a sample mockup of the homepage
Please provide a fixed quote for the work detailed and fire through any clarification questions
The job will be awarded to the designer with the best mockup & a reasonable price
