Description
Experience Level: Expert
Website Designer & Developer — The E-Maginarium Design Studio
Project: Design and build a new website at www.theemaginarium.com
Type: Fixed-price project
Budget: 100 USD
Timeline: September 15th
About us
The E-Maginarium is a branding and design studio. We do two things:
Brand direction: we conceptualise brand strategy and identity for companies and for events, then guide the client through to completion.
Design: logos and graphics for companies, events, and personal brands.
We are a creative studio, so the site itself is a portfolio piece. It has to look like we made it.
What we need
A complete website: design and build, mobile-first, ready to launch on our domain. We are looking for a designer-developer (or a designer who works with a developer) who can take this from concept to live site.
Design direction
In four words: minimalist, whimsical, vibrant, modern.
We want lots of white space and clean, confident typography — but the site should feel soft, imaginative, and alive, not corporate or sterile. Think watercolour, movement, air. Our letterhead (attached) shows the visual language: a wash of blossoms drifting across an open white field, with a sage-green butterfly.
What we like:
- Generous white space, uncluttered layouts
- Watercolour and organic shapes used as accents, not wallpaper
- Subtle motion — soft fades, gentle parallax, elements that drift into view
- Elegant, high-contrast type sitting on light backgrounds
- Colour used in bursts, so it feels vibrant against all that white
What we don't want:
- Heavy template look, boxy grids, stock-photo energy
- Cluttered pages or busy backgrounds behind text
- Anything cold, corporate, or grey
Colour palette: approximate values taken from our letterhead.
| Role | Colour | Approx. hex |
| Base | White | `#FFFFFF` |
| Text | Charcoal / near-black | `#1C1C1C` |
| Primary | Blush pink | `#F5CBD5` |
| Accent | Rose / coral pink | `#E4738A` |
| Secondary | Sage green | `#A9C6A2` |
| Wash | Soft mint | `#DDECD9` |
| Accent detail | Lavender | `#C3B0D8` |
Logo: supplied in vector. The wordmark is set in wide-tracked capitals with a script "the" and a fine circular mark. The typography on the site should sit comfortably alongside it — please propose type pairings rather than simply reusing the logo font throughout.
Pages
1. Home: who we are, what we do, a strong visual entry point, selected work, clear call to enquire
2. About / The Studio: our story, our approach, the team
3. Services: four areas, each with its own section or page:
- Event branding
- Company / corporate branding
- Logo and graphic design
- Personal branding
4. Our Process: how we take a client from concept to completion
5. Portfolio: filterable gallery of projects, plus an individual case-study template we can reuse (hero image, brief, approach, gallery, result)
6. Contact: enquiry form, WhatsApp click-to-chat, email, social links
Sitemap suggestions are welcome. If you think the structure should be different, tell us why.
Technical requirements
Platform: open to Webflow, WordPress, Squarespace, or custom — propose what you recommend and why. Non-negotiable: we must be able to add and edit case studies ourselves without a developer.
- Fully responsive, designed mobile-first (most of our traffic is on phones)
- Fast loading — optimised images, works well on slower Nigerian mobile networks
- Contact form routing to our email, with spam protection
- Instagram feed integration
- Basic on-page SEO: meta titles and descriptions, alt text, sitemap, clean URLs
- Google Analytics installed
- Custom 404 page and favicon
- SSL and domain connection to theemaginarium.com (domain already registered)
- Cross-browser tested (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge)
Deliverables
- Design concepts for the homepage before full build begins (we'd like to see 2 directions)
- Full page designs for desktop and mobile
- Editable source design files (Figma preferred)
- Fully built, tested, live site
- CMS set up with our first 3–5 case studies loaded
- A short handover walkthrough or video showing us how to update the site
- 30 days of post-launch bug fixes
We own all files, designs, and access credentials on final payment.
What we'll provide
Logo files in vector, brand colours, existing photography and project imagery, all written copy, and access to the domain. If you offer copywriting or image sourcing as an add-on, quote it separately.
How to apply
Please include:
1. Links to 3 live websites you've built: not mockups. We want to click through them. At least one should be for a creative, design, or lifestyle brand.
2. Which platform you'd recommend for us, and why.
3. Your timeline from kickoff to launch.
4. A fixed quote, broken into milestones, stating how many rounds of revisions are included.
Applications without live portfolio links won't be reviewed. Please don't send generic proposals — tell us something specific about our brand.
