Experience Level: Intermediate
I%u2019m looking for an experienced website designer who would be willing to work in a partnership with me on two projects. Both projects have considerable commercial potential and multiple income generating streams.
I can%u2019t offer a fee up front but I am offering between 20-30% of all profits from both sites, year on year. We could arrange this by forming an Ltd, LLP or some other form of partnership.
Project 1
This is a site offering information, services and retailing and is targeted at a student audience. It is well on its way to completion; the structure is there, most of the content is written and uploaded and I%u2019ve started to populate the retail area. It%u2019s technically very simple and I probably could finish it myself but it%u2019ll be so much better if it%u2019s finished by someone who knows what they%u2019re doing. For a website designer it may only be about 2-3days work to complete it.
Project 2
This site is aimed at a general audience. I%u2019ve written a detailed plan for the site and I%u2019ve done a lot of background and fact-finding work. I know exactly what the site will do, how it will work and how it will make money but I don%u2019t have the technical skills to take it further.
This project feels more technically complex to me but, again, to an experienced website designer it%u2019s probably very straight forward. The site needs a password-accessed area where a visitor can open and account and enter information. This information then needs to be searchable and browsable to other users. I would also like there to the function to leave feedback and give a %u2018star rating%u2019.
I would like both sites to be very well designed and to have a contemporary, clean %u2018feel%u2019 for the users.
In short, I%u2019m looking to form a working partnership with someone who has the technical skills to help me exploit the commercial potential of these sites, in return for between 20-30% of all future profits from the sites.
